“Leaving one’s comfort fosters self-reliance. SAP enabled me to connect complex systems. Life has taught me that anything of enduring value demands patience.”
When Harsh Mathur decided to pursue professional opportunities abroad, he embarked on a journey that extended far beyond mere geographical relocation—it marked the beginning of a transformative global career.
Originating in India, spanning across Europe, and now based in Australia, Harsh has spent over two decades delivering enterprise solutions across industries such as chemicals, manufacturing, telecommunications, pharma, mining, and utilities. Throughout this journey, he has cultivated not only deep technical expertise but also a keen ability to lead, empathise, and adapt within diverse cultural contexts.
The Beginning Wasn’t Glamorous, But It Was Growth
Harsh’s SAP journey started without a defined path. “I began my journey working on a support project during a time when seasoned SAP consultants were few and product insights were hard to come by. It wasn’t a flashy start, but it was genuine—and it pushed me to learn fast.”
Having been placed in high-pressure environments early in his career, he evolved beyond merely analysing systems—he resolved them. This immersive, hands-on experience established a solid foundation for a career distinguished by international reach and the successful execution of complex transformation initiatives.
“I saw how enterprise systems hold everything together. Successful solutions come from understanding not just the technology, but also the people and processes behind it.”
As Harsh often says, “Resilience is not just about bouncing back, but about growing stronger with each challenge faced.”

A Global Lens, A Human Core
For Harsh, leadership isn’t just a skill; it’s a journey shaped by people, places, and moments that leave a lasting mark. Working with clients across continents has broadened Harsh’s perspective on collaboration. “Every culture, every team brings something unique,” he shares. “You learn to listen more, adapt faster, and appreciate ideas that challenge your own thinking.”
Lessons Beyond the Boardroom
Some of the most powerful lessons didn’t come from global SAP rollouts—they came from a dusty cricket pitch in his local community. Coaching an under-12 boys’ cricket team started as a way to give back. What Harsh didn’t expect was how deeply it would mirror his professional life.
He recalls one particular match that still sticks with him. The team’s opening batsman, a quiet, talented boy, was going through a rough patch. Confidence was low, and expectations were high. Instead of pushing harder, Harsh took a different route. He sat with the boy after the training session, talked through his strengths, broke down goals into small, achievable steps, and slowly helped him rediscover his spark.
“A few weeks later, he scored his first half-century,” Harsh smiles. “But what truly stayed with me wasn’t the number on the scoreboard; it was the moment he looked up, eyes shining, and saw his family cheering from the sidelines. That joy, that sense of belief, was unforgettable.”
The Heart of Leadership
That moment reflected a similar experience from Harsh’s professional life, mentoring a group of junior consultants offshore during a high-pressure SAP Support and CI project. The challenges were different, but the approach was the same: patience, encouragement, and helping someone believe in their own potential.

“Whether it’s a young cricketer or a new team member, the core of leadership is the same—trust, empathy, and the belief that growth happens when people feel supported.”
For Harsh, success isn’t just about delivering outcomes. It’s about the journey—the shared wins, the quiet breakthroughs, and the relationships built along the way.
Beyond Systems, It’s About Impact
“I don’t just work to check a box. I work to solve real problems. I want to understand how it impacts the team, the users, and the business.”
As the SAP Lead for Quote to Cash at Ventora Group, Harsh is part of a digital transformation initiative for one of Australia’s leading home and building products companies. However, what truly sets him apart is his approach: thoughtful, people-first, and deeply rooted in experience.
His Advice for Those Starting Out?
“Start small. Don’t fear complexity—just break it down. Stay curious. And always look for the bigger picture.”
And if SAP disappeared tomorrow? Harsh smiles. “I’d still be doing what I love—solving real problems, improving systems. Maybe in automation, maybe AI. The tools may evolve, but the purpose stays the same.”
Because for Harsh, it was never just about the software. It’s about building solutions that last—wherever in the world he gets an opportunity to do it.
Quiet Strength, Global Perspective
Harsh doesn’t chase the spotlight. But in every system he refines, every team he mentors, and every solution he delivers, his impact is clear. Some leaders make noise. Harsh makes progress—with calm, clarity, and care.
